Head off the beaten track and get ready to explore one of Italy's lesser-known hidden gems - Lake Iseo. Here you can cycle through the vineyards or take a stroll around the spectacular Monte Isola. We have a range of hotels we would be happy to recommend. Flexible bookings available - ask for details.
Italy also offers all you can expect from a holiday from the spectacular lakes in the north, to the craggy peaks of the Dolomites, to the charming cities of Venice, Verona and Rome and the spa towns and stunning scenery of Tuscany.
Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy with the narrow northern part enclosed by mountains and the wider part to the south surrounded by hills. Enjoy coastal walks or hillside climbs, climbing, sailing and windsurfing. Explore the area and visit Limone a picture postcard resort with picturesque streets and two small harbours nestled among lemon groves; Garda on the eastern shore with a backdrop of hills covered with olive groves; Riva with its dramatic mountain scenery and 12th century castle that dominates the waterfront; Peschiera, an old fortified village where the River Mincio meets the lake and the peninsula of Sirmione that stretches out from the southern shore to name but a few.
Take in Verona and experience opera at the historic Roman arena. Explore the city and become entranced by its beauty. Wander along a maze of narrow streets and squares and discover the famous balcony immortalised in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
Venice, the city of dreams has delightful bars and restaurants set amongst peaceful squares. Visit St Mark’s Square and the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, Bridge of sighs and Rialto Bridge. Take a gondola ride or a boat trip to the islands of the Venetian Lagoon.
Visit Selva located beneath the jagged peaks of the Dolomites where you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the unspoilt Alpine environment, dramatic scenery and a network of walking trails ranging from gentle rambles along river valleys to high mountain treks.
Champoluc, a pretty village in the Monte Rosa Alps close to the Italian/Swiss border has dramatic peaks crowned by the mighty Matterhorn. The stunning array of mountains, meadows, lakes and glacier topped peaks offer a variety of wonderful walks.
A visit to Italy would not be complete without a trip to its capital city, Rome; where historic sights greet you at every turn. The awesome Colosseum and Pantheon, St Peter’s Square, the Trevi Fountain, the stunning Sistine Chapel and the unique Vatican City are some of the must see sights.
Wherever you choose to stay you are sure to encounter sun filled days, hospitable people and good food and wine.
