Berchtesgsden is a beautiful historic town set in the Bavarian Alps near the Austrian border with stunning views of the Watzmann Mountain. The area is perfect for hiking and mountain biking and the town is also famous for its interesting history. Popular attractions in Berchtesgsden include Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest and the World War II Centre which are great for finding out more about the war and Germany’s history. The town has many lovely little restaurants, cafes and gift shops lining the streets in its pedestrian area, all beautifully coloured in pastel shades.

Lake Constance has an area of approximately 220 square miles, with shores in Switzerland and Austria as well as Germany, it is one of the largest lakes in Europe. The surroundings are exotic and boast tropical palm trees and other beautiful plants and flowers making the scenery even more stunning. The climate here is also very mild. By either train or boat, you can visit nearby places such as the city of Constance, the Bavarian island town of Lindau and the village of Lochau. Enjoy a lake cruise or visit one of the area’s many museums, full of local culture, or simply relax in the glorious summer sun.
